For the past few days, I've been reading up on the A-Z Challenge, trying to figure out a theme. I've seen themes as simple as"About Me," and as specific as "Sherlock Holmes," but even after all my research, nothing came to me. To be completely honest, when I started writing this post, I still had no idea what I was going to do. Then I started thinking (using your brain for these kinds of things usually helps). What is something that fascinates me, something that I love? What's the thing that all writers have a passion for? What can make us laugh, cry, fall in love? What can comfort us and make us feel alone? What can terrify us, and make us feel safe? There's only one thing: words.
So that is the theme I've chosen. Don't worry, I'm not going to be posting long, pompous monologues about my passion for the many branches of linguistics. I'm simply going to spend some time reflecting on my favorite words: why I love them, what they mean to me, and how they make me feel.
I hope to see you back here on April first! Let me know in the comments if you're doing to A-Z Challenge; I would love to check out your blog :)
